aber wir halten aus. - 20 Grad vorletzte Nacht. Keine Blumen in Sicht bisher. Aber die Sonne scheint höher und wärmer. Leider heißt es immer noch viel Drinnenhocken.
Gerade sind die Kinder recht arbeitsintensiv. Jonathan befindet sich wohl am Höhepunkt des Trotzalters (was des öfteren Dauergeschrei oder -geheul zur Folge hat) und Emanuel ist so mobil, dass man guuut aufpassen muss. Sonst leert er volle Pisstöpfe, reißt Blumentöpfe herunter oder zerstört die Bauwerke der Geschwister, die ihrerseits nicht zimperlich mit ihm umgehen. Dazu kriegt er gerade so ziemlich alle Schneidezähne auf einmal. Eine Zeit, wo jeder mal erkältet war, hatten wir auch. Jetzt sind wir aber wieder fit, bis auf Tim, der wohl zu schnell wieder arbeiten gegangen ist, ohne sich richtig vorher auszukurieren. Das holt er jetzt nach.
but we hold out. - 20 degrees the night before. Still no flowers in sight. But the sun is shining higher and warmer. Unfortunately it still means sitting indoor most of the time.
Just now the kids are quite work-intensive. Jonathan seems to having reached the climax of defiant age (which often results in permanent screaming or wailing) and Emanuel is becoming so mobile, that one has to watch him very carefully. Otherwise he empties full pisspots, pulls down flowerpots or destroys his sibling's buildings, who on their side do not handle him squeamishly. Added to this he is getting almost all incisor teeth at the same time. We also had a time where all of us had a cold. But now we are well again, except Tim, who maybe returned too quickly to work without being totally recovered. That's what he is catching up on now.

Indoor fun!
Ich hab mich das erste Mal mit Sauerkrautmachen versucht.
It was the first time I made my own sauerkraut.
Stampfen ist dabei wichtig.

Auch das gehört zu Leben.
Becoming sick belongs to life sometimes.
Aber auch wenn man gesund ist, ist so ein Mittagsschlaf was Feines, nicht nur für Zweijährige.
But even without being sick a midday sleep ist really refreshing, not only for two-year-olds.
Emanuel ist in dem Alter, wo ALLES gekostet (und wenn genießbar gegessen) wird. Auch die Spülmaschine. Die war aber ungenießbar.
Emanuel is in an age where he tasts (and eats if tasty) EVERYTHING. Even the dishwasher, which was obviously tasty but still too awkward to eat.
Klettern hat auch seinen Reiz. Ob Treppen oder niedrige Stühle, natürlich kommt er da selber hoch. Und Mama muss aufpassen wie ein Fuchs.
Climbing is great. Stairs or small chairs, of course he gets up there by himself. And Mummy has to keep an extra eye on him.
Am liebsten schläft er immer noch eingepuckt.
He still likes to sleep wrapped in a blanket.
Vorher mit den großen Geschwistern herumalbern nicht vergessen.
Not to forget clowning around with his siblings before sleep.
Und am Samstag wird gebadet.
And on saturdays it's time for a bath.
